About Toranj Restaurant

This is my favorite Persian restaurant in Los Angeles, which is saying a lot bc there are so many good options. The juicy chicken here is next level. Can't get chicken like that anywhere. It's absolutely delicious. They also have the best white fish kebabs I've ever had - barramundi. Their lamb shank is also the best I've ever had anywhere. I also love their beef dishes, which are done so much better than most places bc the meat is cooked with the right spices and seasonings, and there is a nice sear on the outside. The restaurant is cute with a nice outdoor dining area, and it's always full of diners but never overcrowded. Service can be a bit uneven but usually it's pretty good. Parking can be a bit challenging as it's Westwood Village. I've been here many times but always look forward to going back.

The kebab was incredible — tender, flavorful, and truly authentic Persian taste. The Gheymeh Bademjoon and Fesenjoon were both amazing, rich in flavor and perfectly balanced. The appetizers were one of a kind, full of fresh and traditional Persian touches. The service here is always top-notch — the staff are friendly, welcoming, and make you feel right at home. Every visit is an amazing experience, and I always leave with more than I expected for what I pay. Highly recommend Toranj to anyone looking for real, high-quality Persian food in LA!

Had a lovely brunch on a warm summer Sunday here, and I enjoyed everything we ordered! My dining companion and I had started our day with a hike, so we were fairly hungry. Portions are quite generous, though, so we had some leftovers, which I enjoyed for dinner the next day. Everything tasted very fresh, and all the items are perfect for sharing. It’s been over a year since this meal, but I still dream of going back! Definitely.

Absolutely 5 stars, and honestly, they deserve more than that!! I’ve traveled across North America and tried many Persian restaurants, but nothing has come close to the unforgettable taste we experienced at Toranj in Los Angeles. Every dish brought back the nostalgic flavors of traditional Iranian home cooking, rich, soulful, and perfectly balanced. We ordered Chicken Koobideh, Cherry Rice (Albalo Polo), Beef Koobideh, and Joojeh Kabab. Each dish was absolutely phenomenal, juicy meats, aromatic rice, and presentation that showed real care and craftsmanship. The restaurant itself is beautiful and warm, and the woman who helped us, I believe her name was Maria, was incredibly professional, kind, and welcoming. If there were more than 5 stars, this place would deserve a solid 10. Truly a gem in LA for anyone craving authentic Persian cuisine. Highly, highly recommended.
